There are many different ways to approach research, but there are three main ways we’ll use in this course:
- Qualitative: words, pictures, observations
- Quantitative: numbers, quantities, measures
- Mixed Methods: a mix of qualitative and quantitative

Depending on the type of research approach you’re taking, reporting content can be drastically different and require unique formatting. The University of Southern California has some really handy tools that clarify what goes into each of these types of reports.
